The Top Ten Best Things About Being Pregnant

  1. Cravings must be obeyed at all cost, even if it means eating a sundae every day.
  2. When deciding on a restaurant, you have final and ultimate say.
  3. When restaurants give a loaf of bread cut with one more piece than the party or the appetizer has one more than the party, you get it.
  4. If your significant other has something on his plate that you want, you get it.
  5. Most of the time you donโ€™t have to worry about your weight and every little thing you put in your mouth.
  6. Everyone will tell you how good you look, whether itโ€™s true or not.
  7. Nap time is back!ย  And every one understands.
  8. Shopping for baby stuff is quite fun.
  9. You have the ultimate conversation starter.
  10. Feeling that baby kick you. (Until the last month when you just yell at it to stop.)

So does any one else have anything to add?

Boy, I want to be pregnant again after reading that list. But, guess three’s enough for us.

I’d also add that maternity clothing is so much better now than it was in the past! You can actually look amazing in the clothes they make now.

How about inspiring random acts of chivalry from strangers (e.g. having doors held open for you, subway seats given up for you, etc.)?

I’ve got some suggestions for a Top Ten Worst Things About Being Pregnant post when you’re ready. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I loved the MUST OBEY CRAVINGS pass that I got. Only downside was that I didn’t stop after baby was born ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  4. Jeff Says:

    I know, I know, I’m a DAD… I can’t empathize much about pregnancy….

One thing I liked: How my wife’s tummy looked! I thought the idea of her actually having LIFE inside of her, and the sight of her tummy were beautiful!!! I know some women may not like all that’s involved (i.e. stretch marks, bella-bands, etc.)

But seeing my wife’s pregnant tummy was great! ๐Ÿ™‚

Very cute! I would add that being pregnant makes you a goddess: a miracle worker, as in, “Men will never be this powerful!” ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Evenshine Says:

I have to echo Cynthia K- preggers clothes are rockin’, and SO comfy…maybe that’s why I still wear some of them (?)…

Also, my hair/skin/nails were better than ever. Definitely a plus to have The Glow.

  7. Steel Magnolia Says:

A (weird) addendum to Evenshine’s comment: After the first pregnancy by belly looked like a raisin. Getting pregnant again filled the loose skin out right nicely! LOL! (Was that TMI???)

  8. joz1234 Says:

Haha! Steel Magnoia–that’s exactly what I’m thinking!

You forgot the BOOBS! I have such nice boobs when I’m pregnant. ๐Ÿ™‚ So much better than the aftermath.

  9. Jane Says:

I’m was just about to say the same thing, joz! Boobs! I finally had boobs – and maybe because I nursed for so long I got to keep mine!

  10. uninvoked Says:

hmm, boobs would be nice. ^^ Not to mention the wider hips part of the deal.

  11. Maureen@IslandRoar Says:

You don’t have to change the cat litter (fear of exposure to toxoplasmosis); I loved that one.
And we saved on fuel bills because for once I wasn’t cold all the time.

  12. rakster Says:

Skin skin skin lovely lovely lovely.

And yes. Eating icecream every day ’cause you needed it.

    And just feeling very special.

And feeling excited almost every day.

And wondering what your child is going to be like and knowing you’re eating icecream just for it to enjoy too.

CynthiaK~ Good point. I have some very cute maternity clothes.
Kristen~ I nearly forgotten about that. And bring on the Worst Things About Being Pregnant. Pregnant women can really bitch.
beth~ I give you some advice a guy friend gave me, “Look through the cravings to what you really need. You don’t need ice cream; you need milk.” Whatever.
Jeff~ Thanks for a DAD’s point of view! That’s really sweet. I like the look of my hugely bulging tummy too.
fem~ Leave it to you to go all spiritual and feminist on us. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Evenshine~ Isn’t it great to have such a wonderful glow? Or super strong nails? Or shiny hair? Too bad it doesn’t stay.
Steel~ Nope, not TMI. In another month, my little fat bulge will look like part of the baby instead of an overhang. That would be nice.
joz~ How could I forget those huge things I’m trying to look over?
Jane~ LOL My mom kept hers too. I’m working on it.
uninvoked~ So maybe I forgot a key element. All these boob women ๐Ÿ˜‰
Maureen~ Then you must have been smart and had all your kids in the winter. I’ve had to in the summer/spring and our AC was going all the time.
rakster~ Mmmm. Ice cream. I wonder if . . . . Oh, right, yes. I love the flawlessness of my pregnancy skin.

ooh, one more thing I left off….
The Big “O” is Ohh so good when you’re pregnant. Something about all that blood rushing there…

Fae, when did your blog become x-rated?? LOL!

  15. zeemaid Says:

I loved it because even my brother would give up the comfy chair for me.

I stopped shedding. I have long hair and I always seem to be losing it but not when I was pregnant. My hair was thick and shiny.

  16. Vo Says:

The best part is shopping for baby stuffs like clothings.
    The best place is http://CLASSYCHILDREN.COM
